Thor's Helmet
A remarkable nebula rich in oxygen (teal) and Hydrogen emissions (deep red) lies in the spring mid southern skies in the constellation of Canis Major. The picture shown here covers a half of a degree in our night skies and can be seen visually with some detail in mid to large size telescopes. The shape led to it's common name of Thor's Helmet and it is designated as Ngc2359 officially.
