Southern Milky Way To Our Galaxy Core
In the summer from North American latitude we can just see the our own galaxy down to it's core in Sagittarius to the right in this over 30 degree widefield picture. This area is packed with a large number of deep sky objects and is a treat to view in a telescope. Numerous dark areas called dark nebula are seen throughout this picture as they blot out our view of the full glow from our galaxy.
