Medusa Nebula And A Star Cluster
The Medusa Nebula in the upper right is named for it's snake-like strands. Towards the center you may see large but very faint deep red nebula that is also part of the Medusa nebula. The group of bright stars seen in the lower left is an open cluster of colorful stars designated as Ngc2395. The Medusa Nebula is more formally known as Abell 21 and is seen here along with the open cluster in this less than one degree area of the night sky that lies in the constellation of Gemini.
