Eastern Veil Nebula
A large supernova remnant in Cygnus called the Veil Nebula can be seen in full in a different picture on this website. Shown here in this 1.5 degree field of view is the eastern brighter section that is a popular object for astronomers to view or photograph. This complex weave of different emission colors shows the emissions of hydrogen in red and the teal color is excited oxygen emissions where together they form a complex pattern.
