Seagull Nebula
The Seagull Nebula has a wingspan of 2.7 degrees as it flies through the winter nights in the constellation of Monoceros. This image highlights the hydrogen gas glowing shows quite a bit of rugged detail in the right wing and also shows the faint blue glow of the reflection nebula just above center right. The Seagull nebula is officially designated as Sh2-296.
