Bean Nebula with Star Cluster

Bean Nebula with Star Cluster

From the southern hemisphere a very large dwarf galaxy called the Large Magalenic Cloud or LMC has in it's north west edge an ornate nebulous area surrounding a central star cluster. Shown here in B/W to better view the clouds I call this the Bean Nebula as it has two of the brighter nebulous areas resembling beans. The big bright nebulous spot at the top of the complex is SL125 and the smaller but still bright nebula to it's lower left is the nebula around Ngc1769. In the open area below SL125 is the cluster called Ngc1761. This area is often forgotten yet very much a favorite of mine due to it's wonderfully complex patterns.
