The Flame And Horsehead Nebula

The Flame And Horsehead Nebula

In the constellation of Orion located adjacent to the most eastern belt star called Alnitak are two amazing and popular nebula. To the east northeast (left) of Alnitak is the Flame Nebula or Ngc2024 which is nicely named. Just south of Alnitak is a deep red nebula in front of which is a dark nebula called the horsehead nebula or B33. This tiny dust cloud shaped like a knight of a chess set looks to the left. This presentation of these two popular objects is done in a traditional color image. Another image on this site is enhanced with the very rich nebulous clouds all through this region.
