Late Winter Skies of Orion

Late Winter Skies of Orion

The area around the constellation of Orion is rich in large and small nebulae seen in 35 degree ultra-wide field. Orion the hunter takes up most of the right side of this picture with the body as a large rectangle leaning to the left with 'Orion's Belt' being located about 1/3 of the way from center to lower right. Far up in the upper left lies the large M35 famous star cluster. The bright 'Rosette Nebula' is the round nebula seen 1/2 the way from center to lower left with the fainter nebula to it's upper left called Sh2-273 both of which appear in far greater detail in other pictures in the nebula section of this site.

There are at least 7 pictures of much smaller 2 degree or so width of objects in this picture elsewhere on this site.

This picture is not really fully processed but I decided to put it on the site early as I like this area and it is up in the skies now (Feb/March posting).
